A cross-museum role with ACE funding. Led on engagement with underrepresented audiences and workforces, accessibility audits and improvements, piloted engagement projects including the foundations for what is now an annual cultural event at Chelmsford Museum

HLF funded project. Key elements included designing and curating a touring exhibition; designing on-site interpretation, an events program and online educational resources.
2013 – 2016 Education and Exhibitions Curator (previously Collections and Interpretation Officer), Braintree Museum
I first undertook maternity cover for the Collections Manager, primary areas of responsibility Collections Management and Exhibitions. In March 2015 my role migrated to managing the Education Department as well as continuing to be responsible for exhibitions and broader interpretation. Both roles involved volunteer and freelancer management.
Education – Managing the freelancer team, creating content and resources for schools, managing all informal learning including in-house and outreach talks, adult group visits, handling loan boxes. Key achievements: developing and launching 3 new packages for schools, recruiting 5 new freelancers
Exhibitions and Interpretation: Managing all aspects of the temporary exhibition program plus the main gallery displays. Key achievements: Body Science exhibition was the museum’s first blockbuster, with record-breaking visitor figures; designing modern low-budget interactives.
Collections Management: Accessioning, cataloguing, environmental monitoring, answering research enquiries, managing museum loans, responding to archaeology deposition requests
Marketing: Marketing exhibitions and events via press releases, radio interviews, social media and marketing materials; monthly newsletter, overseeing website. Key Achievements: Launching the Museum’s blog and first annual What’s On guide; securing and writing monthly Museum column in a local magazine
2011 – 2013 Completing Masters in Cultural Heritage, plus undertaking these roles:
2013 Community Engagement Consultant and Collections Volunteer, Braintree Museum
Designed and implemented first stage of community consultations for the Museum and its proposed redevelopment. Assisted with accessioning, writing exhibition labels and events.
2012 Collections Management Intern, Braintree Museum
Sorting, accessioning, cataloguing and storing the archive of a local industry of national importance (Crittall Window archive), organising a crowdsourcing event to gain new materials for archive and supporting the Collections Manager in the daily running of the Collections Office.
2012 Interpretation team Intern, Hampton Court Palace
Undertook a front-end visitor evaluation project to inform the updating of the introductory exhibition for the Baroque palace.
2012 Exhibition Team Member, UCL and Geffrye Museum of the Home
Co-curated exhibition on Student Homes as part of the Geffrye’s Cultural Olympiad and my Masters, from initial research through to text writing and design suggestions.
